Massive crowds pack 57th annual Peachtree Road Race on Fourth of July

Over 56,000 runners braved the heat this Fourth of July to race in one of Atlanta's most iconic traditions. 

The world's largest 10K took over the streets of Atlanta for Independence Day. 

This year, more than 56,000 runners and walkers navigated a grueling 6.2-mile course from Buckhead to Midtown under an official "Red Flag" warning for extreme heat and humidity.

Some notable competitors included Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Sen. Raphael Warnock. 

Compounded by massive holiday crowds in town for America's 250th anniversary and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the race was among the busiest holiday weekends in the city's history.
