Follow Paul: Flying high with Nacoochee Adventures

It started in 2011 with some ATV tours and ziplines -- but today, Nacoochee Adventures is a full-service getaway for folks who want to see the beauty of North Georgia, learn about the history, and most importantly, experience some thrills while flying through the sky!

Nacoochee Adventures is located just outside Helen, in the Nacoochee Valley Historic District of White County.  Since opening as ZipNTime in 2011, the destination has grown to include zipline experiences including the Moonshine Canopy Tour and the Big Zip Intimidator, which features the longest dual ziplines in the continental United States.  Guides say every experience comes with a healthy dose of history, allowing visitors to learn about the fascinating past of the Nacoochee Valley while seeing it from some pretty incredible vantage points.  Following the original canopy tours, Nacoochee Adventures added the Thriller Giant Swing (yes, it’s a giant swing that drops up to three people at a time from 50 feet in then air!) in 2014 and the Yonah Quest Adventure Park, which is a three-level, 27 element ropes course, in 2016.  Meanwhile, there are several primitive camping structures for those who want an overnight experience, including treehouses made of recycled materials, gypsy vardos that sleep one or two people, and even a pioneer covered wagon.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken is always looking for adventure in North Georgia, especially when it involves his getting to scream his head off on live television.  So he and photojournalist Blaze Meier took a trip up to White County to spend the morning checking out Nacoochee Adventures!
