Fulton County Police are investigating after officers say vandals struck more than 30 houses and cars in at least two Riverdale subdivisions early Friday.

"This is ridiculous, this has never happened in this neighborhood before," said Ina Myers, who lives in Flat Shoals Estates.

According to Myers, her neighbor went outside around 6:30 a.m. and saw a number of spray-painted houses, garages and cars along Beethoven Circle. Officers said the damage extended into Fire Fox subdivision where vandals wrote gang graffiti, profanity as well as some vulgar language directed towards police.

Police told FOX 5 they believe the crimes are gang-related or part of a gang initiation.

"We've had no gang activity before," Myers told FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell. "Apparently somebody in the neighborhood upset somebody."

Several of the spray-painted houses and cars displayed the gang term "crip" on them. Neighbors said there have been other crimes in their subdivision over the last several months, including break-ins and thefts.

Investigators are looking for any surveillance footage of the incident. They told FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell they found a spray can they believe was involved in the crimes.
