A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for all of north Georgia until 7 a.m. Thursday. This is in response to the next wave of heavy rain that will move across the area late Wednesday afternoon and night.

As rain ramps back up and gets heavier and more widespread during the day Wednesday, flooding will become a concern again. 1"-3" of additional rain will be common across north Georgia through Thursday morning. Showers will diminish during the day Thursday, and sunshine will finally make a return by Friday.

Along with the rain will come the cold. Highs through Thursday will struggle to reach 50, while overnight lows will hover in the low to mid-40s. Even once the sun returns by the end of the week, the temperatures will still be well below normal with highs in the mid-50s. and lows in the mid-30s!

Also don't be surprised if a few snowflakes fly late Thursday night and early Friday morning in the higher elevations of the north Georgia mountains. No accumulations will occur but for many it will be the flakes of the season.
