Dangerous high winds in Georgia turn deadly

A man is dead after strong winds brought a tree crashing down on his truck.

It happened in Dawson County on Highway 138 near the intersection with New Bethel Church Road.

Emergency management said when crews arrived the driver had already died.

A little further south in Cobb County, high winds brought a tree down on Allgood Road.

It didn't hit any cars, but it did cause problems for drivers who had to go around it.

In Dunwoody, a tree crashed down on top of a Georgia Power bucket truck. The worker was dangling from the top of the bucket shortly after and needed to be rescued.

It happened just off Spalding Drive in Sandy Springs. Georgia Power issued a statement expressing that their thoughts and prayers are with the employee and his family.

No word on the extent of this injuries.
