Gwinnett County Police say they got a call from the man’s wife around 3:35 p.m. saying her husband was shot during a robbery. Officers say he was dead when they arrived.

Neighbor Matthew Cook lives across the street from the family. He says they were returning home from church when they saw the commotion

"To hear about this, I may be more careful about my surrounding now,” said Cook.

Police say two men dressed in construction attire got into the home. They do not know if they were invited in, but they say there are no signs of forced entry. The men tied up Osorio, his wife, and daughter with zip ties in the living room. Detectives say the victim broke free and was shot and killed. We do not know if they took anything from the home before running to a driver in a champagne-colored Chevrolet Tahoe with a model year between 2000 and 2006.

"The suspects as they fled the home fired shots back towards the residence. No one was struck by those bullets either,” said Officer Jacob Albright of Gwinnett County Police.

The wife and daughter were not injured by gunfire. Police say the wife was taken to an area hospital for shortness of breath. Detectives are checking with neighbors for any home surveillance footage of the suspects.

No word on if the victims know the suspects.
