Police said 17-year-old Curtis Trimble was arrested Wednesday without incident. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with other charges pending.

The girl was transported to the hospital after being shot in the buttocks.

Police told FOX 5 News a white Dodge Charger was seen driving recklessly on Clifton Church Road in southeast Atlanta just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, with an unknown blue sedan chasing the Charger.

Shots were fired from the blue sedan, causing the Charger to lose control, veer into traffic, and strike a black Nissan Altima head-on on Clifton Church Road.

"Guy was literally out the window, sitting on the window shooting back," said witness Ralph Callahan.

"Sitting in the window above the car shooting 20 to 30 shots," said witness Lewis Scott.

The girl, a passenger in the Altima, was struck by a bullet.

"I ran to the car it's a little girl in there shot. I grab the little girl we bring her in the kitchen and thank God Ms. Wanda was here to render aid," said Callahan.

"The little girl kept saying am I going to die am I going to die," said witness Wanda Scott. "I just took her in and cleaned the wound up put pressure on it, stopped her from bleeding."

The suspects in the Charger, a man and woman, fled on foot. Two men in the blue sedan also left the scene before officers arrived.

The girl has been taken to a local hospital with a nonlife-threatening wound.
