Suspect hurt in police shooting outside Henry County sports bar

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a police shooting in Henry County early Monday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. outside Tailgaters Sports Bar and Grill on Highway 155 in McDonough. 

The shooting involved one suspect and two Henry County Police officers, according to investigators. 

Police told FOX 5 some type of argument broke out in the parking lot early Monday morning between a group of people. Several officers passing by noticed the commotion and drove into the parking lot to see what was going on. That's when some type of "scuffle" took place, followed by a foot chase and shots being fired. 

The suspect, a man, was shot at least once by one of the officers. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition. 

The officers weren't injured. 

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
