ATLANTA - The woman who finished third in Atlanta's mayoral race earlier this month said she will vote for Mary Norwood next week.
Former candidate Cathy Woolard held a news conference Wednesday morning to announce her choice to vote for Norwood. Her decision comes just less than one week before the crucial runoff election for Atlanta's next mayor.
"So honored to have Cathy Woolard's support," Norwood said on Twitter. "Thank you, Cathy!"

Tuesday night, Woolard hosted a forum with the top two candidates, Norwood and Keishia Lance Bottoms, to help undecided voters make up their minds. The event was held at the Carter Center and it was packed with Woolard supporters. For 90 minutes, Woolard fired questions at the candidates.
"I wanted them to answer some questions in depth so people could see what's behind that one-minute answer," said Woolard.
At the forum, Keisha Lance Bottoms and Mary Norwood said they hoped to sway undecided voters.
"A few weeks ago on election day, the vast majority of people didn't choose either of us," said Bottoms.
"I hope people came away getting some good information about both of us," said Norwood.
Many of Woolards supporters said they have a tough decision, now that their candidate is out of the race.
"This election is about the future of Atlanta, but we are at such a tipping point of change it's very important people make their selection," said Woolard.
