Residents woke up Friday morning to find their neighborhood part of a crime scene.

"I thought it was terrorism I was really afraid," said resident Janet Bracey. "I start hearing the helicopter just stopped at a house. I didn't know what was going on."

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene shortly after noon as officers continued to respond to the house on Bay Berry Drive.

"We received a phone call from the owner stating there were explosives inside. Came out, sure enough, there were explosives," said Cobb County Police Sgt. Wayne Delk.

Sgt. Delk said at this point it is unclear what type of explosives police uncovered or how many. He said the house had been on occupied and police are trying to learn more about the homeowner's husband who he said may or may not be still alive.

"Husband may have done work with EOD," said Delk.

Police stress neighbors were not in danger and they will remain here until all the explosives are removed.

"Omg just nerve-racking," said Bracey.

Police said they have located at least three pipe bombs.
