Young cancer patient gets special honor by Atlanta Dream
ATLANTA - A Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient was done with chemo, out of bed, and hitting the basketball court!
Hurricane Irma forced 8-year-old Nevaeh to evacuate her home near Savannah.
Just days later, doctors diagnosed her with cancer.
After 14 cycles of chemo, 12 blood transfusions, and 5 surgeries, Nevaeh rang the end of chemo treatment bell last week!
To celebrate, Navaeh also acted as the honorary co-captain at the Atlanta Dream’s Superhero Kids Day game.
She had a special message for anyone in a similar position.
As the honorary co-captain, Navaek joined the players for their team huddle, posed for photos with the captains and refs, and was recognized over the PA system.
