The University of Georgia dismissed one of its baseball players after he allegedly yelled racial slurs during last week's football game.

School officials confirmed Wednesday afternoon that senior first baseman Adam Sasser is no longer with the team.

Sasser tweeted a public apology Wednesday evening reading in part: "I would like to apologize to the University of Georgia -- my teammates and my coaches for the past three years and say that I am extremely sorry. I have put you all in this position and wish nothing but the best for everyone."
