Social Circle Snaps Streak
SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. - This didn’t feel like a season-opening victory.
"I've waited four years for this,” said Social Circle senior offensive lineman Ryan Harris. “It's awesome."
The Social Circle Redskins football team had not won a game since 2011 – and that game was a forfeit by the other team. Before that, it was 2010
"On Monday it was a lot of hype, people were excited, the teachers were complimenting everybody in class,” said senior receiver/defensive back James Corasaniti. “It was fun to be a part of."
Players celebrated after the game with their fans and band, then parents and supporters met the team outside the field house. Social Circle’s players say they see a lot of talent on the practice field, evidenced not just by the first victory but two wins in scrimmages as well. They think playoffs are a possibility; their coach has a more immediate goal.
“Win number two,” said second-year head coach Chad Estes.
Social Circle is off this week before consecutive road games at Temple and at Putnam County.
