Falcons' Ricardo Allen out for season with torn Achilles

And the hits just keep on coming.  The Atlanta Falcons announcing that starting free safety Ricardo Allen will miss the remainder of the 2018 season with a torn Achilles, which he suffered in the team's 43-37 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Allen is the third Falcons player who will miss the remainder of the season, joining fellow safety Keanu Neal and starting left guard Andy Levitre. Allen went down late in the fourth quarter.

Allen, 26, is a highly respected member of the Falcons' defense. In his four seasons as a starter in Atlanta, Allen, a fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has recorded 229 tackles, 13 pass defenses and seven interceptions.

In August, Allen agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Falcons.
