Alpharetta murder suspects arrested

Police said they have executed raids at three separate locations last night, making three different arrests in the death of a 21-year-old Alpharetta man.

Alpharetta Public Information Officer George Gordon announced the arrest of Michael Jamar Dawson, of Lithonia, Dontravious Mahone, of Riverdale, and Jemal Gines, of Decatur, during a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Police officers from Alpharetta, the Atlanta Fugitive Squad, Clayton County SWAT, and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office raided the three locations overnight.

Investigators said the men were charged with felony murder and burglary.

Police said they were called out to the Preserve at Academy townhomes off of Wade Creek Road the morning of April 21. Officers found the body of Kadarius Cortez Medlock, who died from an apparent single gunshot wound.

No word on when the men will make their first appearance on the charges.
