Uga IX Passes Away

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Uga IX, also known as Russ, passed away in his sleep on Monday morning according to University of Georgia officials.

The 11-year-old bulldog oversaw a 44-19 record in his time as mascot.

Russ was born on June 20, 2004 to the Seiler family, who has carried on the Uga line since 1956.

Uga IX retired from his service to the school on Nov. 21 during the Georgia Southern game when he turned over the reins to Que.
