The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office has made two more arrests in the vandalism of a veterans’ war memorial last December.

In a press release, officials said that they had arrested 43-year-old Newnan resident Keshia Martin Black on Jan. 3. Monday morning they arrested another suspect, 26-year-old Bryan Sears of Weatherford, Texas.

These arrests bring the number of suspects arrested to three. Last week, Sheriff Eric Levett announced the arrest of Wendell Tolbert.

Police said they have a warrant out for one other suspect

"We want to make sure that we send this message to the remaining suspect," Levett said. "This was a terrible crime. This was disrespectful to many men and women who sacrifice their lives each and every day and have sacrificed their lives in the past for our country."

Back in December, thieves broke into the park and stole two heavy bronze statues of soldiers, a massive 800-pound globe, and numerous plaques have been stolen from the Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial.

The sheriff's office is still investigating why the memorial was targeted, but they think drugs might be involved.

Black and Sears are currently in the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office jail. Both have been charged with felony theft by taking and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
