Authorities are investigating after a stolen vehicle crashed after a police chase in Atlanta Friday morning.

At around 9:45 a.m., officers spotted a stolen vehicle driving in the area of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard and Jett Street in northwest Atlanta. Officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver fled and refused to stop, according to police.

A pursuit followed and officers requested assistance from the Georgia State Patrol.

The GSP performed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle at Cameron Alexander Boulevard near Sunset Avenue, where the vehicle flipped onto its roof.

Police said the driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with arm injuries. The driver was also found to have an active warrant for her arrest for failure to appear on a theft by taking vehicle charge.

Investigators said the driver was the only person inside the stolen vehicle.

No officers were injured during the chase.
