Man ambushed, sexually assaulted woman at gunpoint

- Neighbors in communities in Atlanta are being told to be on the lookout for a dangerous sexual predator after Atlanta Police released a sketch of the alleged perpetrator.

Police said the man ambushed a woman at gunpoint shortly after midnight September 4 in the 200 block of Rosser Street, not far from the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive NW and Joseph E. Lowery Drive SW.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 27 years old, between 5'10 and 6 feet tall, with a slim build, wearing a black hoodie, and carrying a camouflage drawstring backpack.

Police said the 28-year-old victim was waiting in a car for a friend on Rosser Street when the attacker approached her car he forced his way inside at gunpoint, and sexually assaulted the woman.

The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and interviewed by police there, an incident report states.

Authorities believe the man may live in or around the Washington Park neighborhood, in close proximity to the scene.
