A suspect has been arrested in the case of a "possible kidnapping attempt" of a 4-year-old boy at a Forsyth County Barnes & Nobel, police say.

Forsyth County deputies had released surveillance footage to FOX 5 yesterday of the unknown male, whom they now believe to be 26-year-old Alpharetta resident Michael Fazio. They said that he grabbed the boy and tried to run off with him.

The ordeal happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the bookstore at the Collection at Forsyth Shopping Center. Investigators said the father of the boy was attempting to pay for a book at the register, when the suspect followed the boy, picked him up and tried to run off with him. The father intervened and the man put the boy down, and the stranger took off.

"The stranger said something to the father, as if  'I thought this was my roommate's son, and that's why I picked up your child,'" said Deputy Doug Rainwater.

After FOX 5 ran the story, viewers reached out to the Sheriff's Office, and they say that they located the suspect after working through the night.

Fazio has been arrested and charged with kidnapping. He is currently in the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.

The Sheriff's Office thanked viewers who shared the information, saying the information gained was "invaluable" in finding identifying Fazio.

The case is still under investigation.
