There is an urgent hunt for an armed and dangerous man who police say gunned down and murdered four victims in the Polk County community of Rockmart. Friday night, after the Thursday night murders, two prayer vigils were held.

There are new details of the people who lost their lives as the Rockmart community gets together to heal and pray for the four lost lives.

At Zion Hill Baptist Church the father of one of the victims spoke of his anguish.

“I just want to say this I just want to know why did this happen to my son,” he said.

At another church down the road, Greater New Anointing, a smaller group gathered to pray and heal.

Among them was Lori Meinke, a close friend of one of the victims, 48-year-old Helen Rose Mitchell

“Why would somebody do that she would never hurt anybody I don’t know,” said Meinke.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the bodies of Helen Rose Mitchell and 19-year-old Jaequnn Davis were found at a home in the 300 block of Williamson Street Thursday night.

Mitchell’s grandson 24-year-old Peerless Brown, who was also shot there, is recovering at Atlanta Medical Center.

The GBI told FOX 5 News the bodies of 24-year-old Arkeyla Perry and 26-year-old Dadrian Cummings were found at a home on Rome Street about 300 yards away.

His mother, Tamara James,  said her son and murder suspect Daylon Gamble were inseparable.

“I just can’t believe he would do something like this and I just wonder why,” said James.

Dadrian's mother said his son was mentoring Gamble who she said had just gotten out of prison.

The GBI said Gamble is facing four counts of murder and is considered armed and dangerous.

It was a deadly shooting spree which left a deep wound in the Rockmart community.

Pastor Ramone Arnold, with Zion Hill Baptist Church, told FOX 5 News it’s important to come together in prayer to heal after the deadly shooting spree.

“We’re just trying to bring everyone together to bring peace at a time like this,” said Pastor Arnold.

The GBI said there were no new developments as to the whereabouts of quadruple murder suspect Daylon Gamble.
