Reward offered for Georgia gun store robbers

Officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to an arrest in a Rincon gun store burglary.

Police say on Dec. 18 the theft happened at the Grey Fox Gun Shop on the 5900 block of Georgia State Route 21.

In total, 15 firearms were stolen at the time, which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives called a "potential danger to citizens, communities, and quality of life."

"We take this crime very seriously," said ATF Special Agent in Charge Arthur Peralta. “Firearms trafficking is a serious offense which results in significant federal prison time for the person or persons responsible."

ATF is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to an arrest and conviction. That reward will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation for a total reward up to $5,000.

Anyone with information about this theft should contact the ATF Gun Hotline at 1-800-283-4867, online at ATFTips@atf.gov, or anonymously using the Reportit® app.
