COWETA COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Members of the law enforcement community and Coweta County came together Wednesday to say goodbye to a fallen deputy.
Coweta County Deputy Edmond Irvin, 25, was shot and killed at his home in Palmetto late last month.
Wednesday, hundreds of people showed up Saint Smyrna Baptist Church in Newnan to pay their final respects.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the church just before the process to Floral Hill Cemetery in Palmetto, where Irvin was laid to rest.
Police believe Irvin's cousin 17-year-old Danny Long got into a fight with the deputy which ended in the deadly gunfire. Long has been charged with a count of murder and a count of terroristic threats. He currently is being held at the Fayette County Jail.
