Police: UPS driver shot while making deliveries in South Fulton

Police in South Fulton are searching for the gunman who shot a UPS driver multiple times.

Officers were called out to the 3500 block of Umatilla Lane around 4 p.m. South Fulton Police said they found a 26-year-old victim, an employee for UPS delivering packages, with injuries.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital. They are in stable condition and will need surgery. 

The name of the driver has not yet been released.

Investigators spent much of the afternoon canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance video. 

Police are searching for a motive. Investigators do not know if the shooting was the result of a robbery, or if the UPS driver knew the gunman. Police are investigating what was in the package. 

Neighbors said the home has been a concern to community members for some time, with numerous strange individuals coming and going at different hours of the day and night.
