Gwinnett County police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect accused of using a police officer’s stolen credit to make fraudulent purchases.

On May 7, police said the suspect is shown on surveillance video approaching a counter at a Kroger in Dacula, attempting to purchase a $1,500 money order. The male is shown repeatedly swiping a card in the machine before learning the card had declined. The video then shows the suspect walk away while talking on the phone.

The victim, a police officer in metro Atlanta, said his bank notified him of possible fraudulent activity on his Visa card, which was still in the officer’s possession at his home.

Police say it appears the suspect may have made a cloned the officer’s card.

The suspect is described as an approximately 40-year-old black male, 6 feet tall, weighing 250 pounds with a large beard. He was shown on surveillance video wearing a yellow shirt and tie.
