Investigators are hoping newly released surveillance video will lead them to the men who shot and killed a DeKalb County man in his own yard.

Jamal Barber, 28, was found shot in his driveway of his Stonemill Manor home Monday around 10:45 p.m. DeKalb County Police said he had been shot once.

Police said two men can be seen in newly released video caught by victim’s own surveillance system. It initially shows a man in a white or light-gray midsize SUV drive up, get out, and have a brief conversation with Barber. Moments later, police said the same man returned with an armed man at his side.

Police said soon after, there was gunfire. The two men could be seen running from the scene, Barber chasing them until he collapsed in front of his home.

Barber’s mother said she and neighbors tried to save her son’s life. She said someone will come forward to bring justice to her family.

DeKalb County Police said they are following some leads, but are reaching out to the public, asking anyone with information to give them a call.
