Police now believe a recent divorce may have motivated a man to shoot and kill his ex-wife before turning the gun on himself at a Gwinnett County salon Monday.

Officers with the Duluth Police Department responded to multiple calls about shots fired at Edge Total Hair on Pleasant Hill Road just before 10 a.m.

According to investigators, 62-year-old Namyoon Cha, the ex-husband of 48-year-old salon owner Myyoung Lee, showed up with a gun and told people to leave.

"The male entered the store and said something and evacuated the store with maybe employees or customers," explained Duluth Police Officer Ted Sadowski.

When Lee tried to run for the door, police said, Cha opened fire, shooting her twice.

"The last [fatal shot was] execution-style in the parking lot," said Officer Sadowski.

When officers arrived, they found Cha inside the salon with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.  Paramedics transported him to Gwinnett Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators said the former couple's daughter was also at the salon at the time of the shooting.

Police executed a search warrant at the salon to collect evidence related to the shooting, including surveillance video of the crime.
