Suspicious packages cleared at Federal Building

ATLANTA - The Richard B. Russell Federal Building & Courthouse in Atlanta has been reopened following a suspicious package investigation. 

According to U.S. Marshals, two packages were located Monday morning in a trash bin outside of an employee entrances, located at 75 Spring Street. Authorities responded to the scene and determined that the packages were not a threat.

Officials described the packages as a gym bag with clothing and a small tote bag with similar items. 

People are being allowed back inside the federal building.
