Gwinnett County Police have obtained a warrant for a suspect in a shooting that killed two men outside a bar in Duluth.

According to officials, the shooting happened before 2:30 Saturday morning at the Prime Bar and Grill, which is in the Monarch strip mall on the 1900 block of Day Drive.

When police got to the scene they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics transported the men to a local hospital, where they were both pronounced dead.

Officials say the shooting was part of an altercation at the bar that spread to the parking lot and sidewalk outside. At some point, shots were fired.

On Sunday, Gwinnett County Police said they are looking for 23-year-old Samuel Songsy for questioning. He is currently wanted for aggravated assault.

Police have identified one of the victims as 47-year-old James Kim, who was a co-owner of the bar. Detectives believe Kim was "caught in the crossfire" and not involved in the shooting.

The second victim has been identified as 26-year-old Malik Jett. Police have not yet said if Jett was involved in the altercation.

Investigators say they've seen similar situations at this bar before, but nothing so deadly.

"We have been here before. There's an extended history of fights and similar instances that you'd expect at a bar at this location," Detective Samantha Flynn said.
