Police search for driver who struck 3-year-old in Atlanta

The 3-year-old boy struck by two cars in southwest Atlanta Tuesday evening was recovering a day after the accident.

It happened in the 1400 block of Venetian Drive before 7 p.m. Atlanta Police said the child ran into the road and was hit by a Nissan Altima and a Ford Mustang.

Police said the driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene. The driver of the Ford rushed the child and his mother to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. He then took off from the hospital.

The victim has a broken leg and possible head injuries, authorities said.

A description of the driver has not yet been released. No word on possible charges.
