Officials: Rescue at North Georgia falls hampered by weather

Authorities say the weather is hampering a rescue attempt at a North Georgia falls after a man fell about 20 feet.

Emergency crews at out at the Panther Creek Falls in Habersham County. A spokesperson for the Habersham County Emergency Services says due to the weather, aviation units were grounded. Emergency officials say they have to hoist the victim up the falls.

The man’s condition was not immediately known, but he will likely be transported to a nearby hospital for triage.
