Officials: Pups rescued from Pickens County home

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. - A Pickens County woman was charged with cruelty to animals after deputies said she kept nine dogs living in filth.

Authorities found the dogs last week at the home on Young Loop.

Investigators said there were confined in a small, dirty space without clean water or fresh food.

Officers gave nine citations to the woman living there, Charlott Richards, and confiscated the dogs.

The pups are now at the Humane Society of Forsyth County where caretakers are preparing them for adoption.
