New video raises questions about injury to Muscogee Co. student

New video is sparking more questions about the altercation that left a student seriously hurt at a Muscogee County school.

The video obtained by All on Georgia: Muscogee County appears to show a school employee carrying Montravious Thomas out of the Edgewood Student Service Center.

The organization posted the video to its website and said it directly contradicts the school system's claim that Thomas was “well enough” after his physical altercation with a contract employee to “walk around.”

Thomas's attorney told FOX 5 News Thomas is the child being carried in the video.

His family claims his leg was so damaged after he was body slammed by the contract employee that his leg had to be amputated last week. They also contend he was not given medical attention despite his injuries.

A statement sent to FOX 5 News from the school system reads in part:

“Witnesses indicate that the child was up and walking and not in distress following the administered restraint.

“In addition, multiple attempts to contact the parent at the phone number(s) provided to the school were unsuccessful on September 12, 2016, the date of the incident.”
