ATLANTA - Lifeline Animal Project wants some weekend warriors.

This weekend, the animal rescue group kicks off its Weekend Warrior program.

The program allows animal lovers to spend the weekend with a shelter dog.

It's a four-day commitment from Friday to Monday that lifeline said can make a world of difference for the pups.

Lifeline will also outfit the pups with vests or bandanas that let people know they're adoptable.

Plus, for those looking to spend more time with their weekend pal, Lifeline said they'll work with volunteers on fostering or adoption.
