Motorcycle crash kills 2 in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A motorcycle crash has killed two people in Sandy Springs.

It happened after midnight on Interstate 285 westbound near Peachtree Dunwoody Road.

Police say the motorcycle ran into the back of a tractor-trailer. After speaking with witnesses, police believe the driver did not know how to operate the motorcycle.

The man driving died at the scene. The woman riding with him died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Police have not yet identified the two victims.

The accident closed multiple lanes for multiple hours, but officials say all traffic should be moving at a normal speed now.
