Mother of 2-week-old arrested in connection with baby's death

The mother of the 2-week-old baby whose body was found in a duffel bag in the woods, is now in police custody after being arrested on Saturday. 

In October it was reported that the newborn girl, Caliyah McNabb, was missing. 

Christopher McNabb, the baby's father was arrested and denied bond, and charged with murder.

Now the child's mother, Bell faces charges for second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to a child, and contributing to the deprivation of a minor, according to the Newton County Sheriff's office.  

Her first court appearance is Jan. 8.

Bell and McNabb were the parents of Caliyah McNabb, whose body was found in October 2017 in the woods in Covington. 

Sgt. Morrison of the Newton County's Sheriff's Office tells FOX 5 News, the District Attorney had a warrant issued through indictment.
