A team of veterinarians and 3-D printing designers from Brazil successfully implanted a titanium 3-D printed beak on a blue and yellow macaw.

The macaw, Gigi, was rescued in São Paulo, Brazil, with a beak so severely damaged that she couldn’t eat solid foods. Gigi’s new bill has bright, colorful orthopedic screws on it to help keep it in place and was attached with bone cement.
