Man shot at hair salon, dropped on stranger's porch

DeKalb County Police are trying to piece together a bizarre murder, in which a man was shot at a hair salon and then dropped off a mile and a half away on a stranger's doorstep.

FOX 5 spoke to the woman who police said heard a banging on her door at her home on West Ridge Avenue, and opened it to find a man clinging to life.

"The gentleman, he said, 'Call 911, I've been shot... call my sister,'" said the woman, who we identified only as Donna. She said she went to grab her cell phone and call 911, but the man was unconscious. He died on her doorstep.

"I wish he had hung on until [the paramedics] got here," she said.

Police told FOX 5, they believe the man was shot at Maggie's Weave Studio off Memorial Drive. People in surrounding businesses said they heard gunshots, and ran into the back of another hair salon to duck for cover.

No one was at Maggie's Weave Studio when FOX 5 stopped by. Several windows were busted out from some sort of damage.

Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting, the suspects, and why the victim was taken to and left at a stranger's home.

The victim has not yet been identified.
