The family of a security guard shot and killed in northeast Atlanta says the 30-year-old was only doing his job.

According to detectives, Scott  Marthone was found in the back parking of Loud house Studios on Liddell Drive just after 10 p.m. He had been shot in the head.

"You would never think somebody would be that cold and say well since you won't let me in, I will take you out.  It's ridiculous," the victim's cousin JR told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor.

Marthone was the oldest of five boys. His family says he was passionate about security and wanted to own his own company one day. Detectives don't have a motive for the crime but think this was targeted and not a random act.

Investigators said witnesses haven't been much help in determining what led up to the shooting or the killer's identity. Investigators plan on looking at surveillance video from nearby businesses, hoping that'll give them some answers.

Police towed a number of vehicles out of the lot, telling us they might contain evidence related to the murder.
