Atlanta Police are investigating after a home invasion on Stokeswood Avenue.

The homeowner, who wanted to be identified only as Thomas, spoke with FOX 5 News on Tuesday. He said two men, possibly in their late teens, pried open a front window with a crowbar to gain access. He was inside the house at the time of the crime Friday night. He said he heard voices on another side of a door. And he confronted the crooks in a hallway.

"...I didn't have a weapon so I knew it was going to be either be killed or kill," Thomas said.

Turns out, he didn't have to fight at all. He said he lunged at the pair and hollered. And they took off running, dropping a bag taken from inside the house. They ended up leaving empty-handed. However, Thomas' roommate, Stephanie, stressed her sense of safety has been violated.

"It is disconcerting to have someone in your house. It is such an intrusion," Stephanie added.

The men damaged a mirror while running out of the house. No one was hurt.

Neighbors are trying to pull together any possible home surveillance footage that may have captured the crooks.
