Tragedy struck a Kennesaw family during this past weekend's snow. Jennifer Lane, a mom of 3, was walking on a trail in the Legacy Park subdivision with her family when a tree limb fell, hitting her on the head and back. She is now in the hospital with a severe spinal cord injury.

Jen's husband called for help, but the roads were too icy for ambulances to get through the subdivision. Neighbors came running to help.

"People were stopping pulling stuff out of their cars, there was one guy who couldn't see past the blankets he was carrying. Everyone was pealing off coats to make sure she didn't go into shock," said neighbor Sharon Pell.

One of the neighbors who showed up was an EMT.  "After the EMT checked her vitals, we did the next best thing, started praying the Our Father with her, and calmed her down," said friend Estaban Alarcon.

Jen's husband got his truck and with help from others loaded her into the vehicle and met the ambulance. Jen has punctured lungs, broken ribs and a spinal cord injury. Her friends say right now she has no feeling in her legs.

"I think we’re all still in shock, but we all keep lifting each other up. There are moments we laugh, moments we’re sad.  If anyone can get through this horrible tragedy it's Jen," said her friend Lorraine Laborde-Coryell.

The neighborhood has rallied around the Lane family. They've arranged meals for the family through February and set up a GoFundMe account: https://www.gofundme.com/loveforjenlane
