CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Carroll County deputies along with state and federal authorities are searching for an inmate after he managed to escape Monday during a work detail.
According to authorities, the Georgia Department of Corrections State Work Detail had to notify the Carroll County Sheriff's Office after inmate Tommy Shane Morton walked away from his detail near East Ranchette Road at Taylors Gin Road.
Morton is described as 5-foot-10 and about 150 pounds.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office, along with the Marshals Service, are investigating.
If anyone sees Morton, they should call 911.
