Feds urge drivers to park some trucks immediately

The federal government has issued a serious "DO NOT DRIVE" warning regarding two vehicles currently on the road.

Here's what's happening. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is announcing in a second stern warning that drivers do not drive some older model Ford and Mazda trucks.

  • 2006 Mazda B-Series

NHTSA says they have defective Takata airbags. They can explode and when they do they can send metal flying with deadly force. A limited recall was issued back in 2014 and it has continued to expand. But, many - too many - are still on the road. People are still dying because of these airbags, they report. Just this year the number went up to 22 people killed.

A couple of things are happening. NHTSA executives say that the airbags are not being repaired fast enough and drivers are ignoring the warning.
