Loved ones spent Monday afternoon making final arrangements for 16-year-old Zikora Okwousa.

Dr. Felix Okwousa, teen’s father says, “My son loved playing basketball. He died playing basketball. I’m sure that was the best game of his life.”

Okwousa attended Eagles Landing High School in Henry County. His life came to a tragic end Friday night.

The basketball player collapsed during a game. Medics rushed him to Piedmont Henry Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Coaches, players, and fans joined in prayer for the student and his family before a basketball match at Luella High School Saturday.

Grief counselors were on hand for students and staff on the Eagles Landing campus when they returned to school on Monday.

The young man’s family moved by the overwhelming show of support.

Zikora’s family says the high school junior had dreams of playing for the NBA one day, and also wanted to be a doctor.
