Gordon County boy killed in ATV accident

A Gordon County community is mourning the death of an 8-year-old boy who was killed in an ATV accident in Sonoraville on Easter Sunday. Gordon County Sheriff's officials said Nathan Braddy suffered fatal injuries when an ATV he was operating flipped and landed on the child.

Gordon County Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Personnel were dispatched to the poultry farm on Old Boone Ford Road at around 7:30 Sunday night.

EMS rushed the child to Gordon Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The coroner's office told FOX 5 the boy died of blunt force trauma and the cause of death has been ruled accidental.

Braddy attended Fairmount Elementary School in Fairmount. Officials said Sunday’s ATV accident is the second recreational vehicle fatality in the county this month in which a child was killed. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities said no charges are pending in the case.
