Former Miller County Sheriff arrested
MILLER COUNTY, Ga, - A former Miller County Sheriff was arrested after accusations of monetary theft in various areas associated with the sheriff's office, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Shane Rathel was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of violation of oath of office, and 16 counts of theft by taking, according to the GBI.
Rathel turned himself in to the Miller County Jail, and his charges will be handled through the Miller County Superior Court.
