DECATUR, Ga. - A possibly mentally ill man was arrested for starting a fire at a Texaco gas station in Decatur, according to authorities.
DeKalb County Police say the man ran into the Hop-in gas station on Glenwood Road Saturday night, went back into the office and ignited a fire.
According to DeKalb County Fire officials, the suspect refused to come out of the gas station, but later emerged and was taken into custody.
Officials say the suspect is not an employee of the gas station, and robbery is not believed to be a motive in this case.
The fire was extinguished. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
