Cobb County police were called to the Crescent Square Apartments located in the 2000 block of Austell Road just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, responding officers found a male victim dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Roland Milton III of Marietta, Georgia, according to police.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the apartment complex around 12:30 p.m. as a number of police officers and fire officials continued to respond to the shooting.

Police said there were about a dozen witnesses, but they are not talking. Authorities say they have identified the perpetrators as four men wearing ski masks, armed with handguns, who fled the scene on foot.

"We're not getting a lot of cooperation right now as far as who may have seen anything. There's obviously a lot of people around, but from what I understand right now, nobody is saying that they saw anything,” said Officer Alicia Chilton, Cobb County Police Department.

Investigators believe the shooting escalated from an altercation inside on the apartments.

Police said there were reports of multiple shots being fired.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting or who the possible gunman may be is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department.
