Driver hurt, child unharmed in Langford Parkway crash

A driver was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on an exit ramp to Langford Parkway Friday morning. Atlanta Police say a 4-year-old child who was also in the vehicle, which did not have a car seat, was unharmed.

Police say a Toyota hit the median wall on the exit ramp from I-75 to Langford Parkway, causing the vehicle to roll over.

The 49-year-old driver, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported to a Grady Hospital with a “catastrophic head injury.” The driver is reportedly on life support.

Police say they found an open beer in the vehicle and marijuana in the driver’s pant pocket.

The child was also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police say the child's mother was located and was on the way to pick up the child.
