A driver who was hit in the head by a stray bullet ran over a man late Thursday night, leaving both of them seriously injured.

Atlanta Police said around 10 p.m. Thursday, three men got into an argument in front of a store at the West End intersection of Evans and Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. Two of the men went inside the store, then that's when investigators said the third guy pulled a gun and started firing random shots into the air.

One of the stray bullets hit 42-year-old Tobias Thomas in the back of the head. Thomas is the co-owner of Inkkwell Music Studios. Police say he lost control of his pickup truck and ran over another man. Oumar Dia was hit by Thomas'  truck and hurt his leg.  Paramedics rushed both Dia and Thomas who had been shot to Grady Memorial Hospital. At last check, they were in serious but stable condition.

One of the West End businesses captured the crash on surveillance video and shared it with us.

Detectives said the man hit by the truck may have been riding a bike. They found one at the scene, but they also said it's possible the bicycle just happened to be in that location. In addition to hitting the man, the pickup truck knocked down a couple of light poles.

The gunman took off running, according to police. Investigators planned on talking to witnesses and hoped the many surveillance cameras in the area will help identify him.
